Not only is having your wallet stolen a bitch, it has some nasty side effects:

  • Not having any cards, I have to do everything with cash.  Esp with it being a long weekend, I’ve had to draw a wad of cash out of the bank.  This is not something you want to do at a time when you’re paranoid about losing stuff!
  • Having no licence means that I’ve got to carry my passport around with me.  My passport is 7 years old and I look like a complete dog in my photo!  I can’t believe my face was so fat… like a blowfish!  And I really should have waxed my top lip before getting that pic taken… Yet NO ONE has mentioned it doesn’t look like me!

I’m working on an Arts council grant at the moment.  They don’t make it easy.  I’m using a Word form and it’s so poorly designed that I have to fight the temptation to fix it!  I really don’t think I’ll get a grant, I don’t write arty enough for that kind of thing, but figure it’s worth going through all the preplanning stages anyway.

This won’t mean much unless you follow AFL but I traded Aaron Sandilands out of my dream team this week – stupid, stupid, stupid!  We watched the final quarter of the game last night.  I really wanted to see Geelong get beaten cos they’re getting to full of themselves lately, damn it.  I’m torn today because I want to go see my team play but I’ve got a lot of other stuff to do – like writing and going to the gym and shopping.  Still go Crows!

  1. i sooooo know what a pain it is not having cards!it drives me crazy

  2. I know it’s a cliche but you gotta be in it to win it, or so they say. I am with you on reformatting though, I have even corrected spelling mistakes in e-mails before hitting reply, it is a sick compulsion 🙄

    Bummer about the wallet.

My brother looks like a serial killer in his passport photo, I am surprised every time someone lets him into their country.

  3. Bad move re Sandilands. I on the other hand traded in Ibbotson who picked up a stack of points.

I hate having to carry cash. I suppose you more aware of what you’re spending though.

  4. ooh – half time and down by ten! They could come back though…

  5. A while back I went into the post office to see if they thought I needed to re-do my passport too, because in my photo (taken years ago) I too look pretty bloated. After asking the nice lady at the counter what she thought, and hoping for some wonderful compliment about how much better I looked, she just said, “Nope, that we be fine, no need to re-take, still looks like you – next please” – very deflating.

  6. I got my passport photo taken right after I’d been to the hairdresser, so my hair looked fantastic, just couldn’t fix the face – should have gone into the local department store and gotten them to do my makeup too!!

    I couldn’t live without my cards 😯
