Every week I log my weigh in figures on Calorie King and, over the past weeks it’s been like this – down .5 kg, up .5 kg… repeat.

I’ve had enough.  I’m not losing the same .5 kg and having it find me again and again.  A few years ago when I wanted to get to my goal weight I adopted a motto: STOP DICKING AROUND.  I need to bring that back.

I know exactly where my problem lies – I have about 3-4 days a week where I’m on track, exercising, eating well.  Then I get complacent and indulge.  Not major binges but a cupcake here and few glasses of champagne there.  It adds up, especially when coupled with no exercise.  I’ve got to keep the momentum going.  This would be all fine and dandy if I wanted to maintain my weight but I don’t.  Enough is enough.  No more dicking around.

  2. Yes, I get you. I hear you!!
    My new trick is to make some rules – like no alcohol during the week, no chocolates during the week.
    Another good point my dietician gave me was that we eat 21 meals in a week. If 2 are not so good, that is 90% of the time we are eating well.
    Have a think on that, I hope it helps.

  4. I have those bad periods too .. they are called weekends.

  5. I have started entering data in Calorie King today and can see that, whilst I have been doing OK up till now, the honesty of the figures that this is going to shove into my face, is going to make me do something about it. And like you, I have to stop dicking around….

    I have been blowing 3 days out of 7 (Fri / Sat / Sun) so I have decided to restrict it to 1 day and see what difference that makes..

  7. The trouble with that motto is, having it written on your hand as a reminder could be embarrassing!
