I love home even though I had a fantastic time in Tassie.  Did I mention in my last post dinner with Mary, Brooke, Phil and Linda on Thursday night?  Great fun 🙂

Went swimming and my tan washed off 😦  Not totally but some.

My Nan’s birthday lunch was great.  Caught up with family and had an awesome time.  Then went to visit other family (on my dad’s side).  Haven’t seen some of them for about 15 years or more.

The rest of the time I spend sleeping and watching telly and eating.  I’ve put on 3 kgs although I only weighed myself tonight so hopefully after some proper hydration and sleep, it won’t be so bad. It’s terrible when you’re visiting Mum.  She cooks all your favourite food and there’s not much else to do but eat.  I did minimal exercise too – Saturday and Sunday I walked down to get coffee (it’s so very hard to get decent coffee in the remote wilderness of Tasmania), taking the dog with me.  It was a fair distance but took forever what with sniffing at poles and leg cocking.  The dog slowed me down too!!!

Today I went for a run.  We went out to a picnic ground in the bush and I had a 30 min run around the bush tracks and roads.  That was awesome.  I always think I hate running in the bush but when I do it, I love it.

One of the hardest parts of the holiday was getting so many compliments on my weight loss.  What weight loss?  I’ve put on weight.  It was hard but I didn’t say it to anyway – just accepted the compliments graciously 🙂   I felt like a total fraud though.

  1. Glad to hear you had a great time in Tassie! It was great to catch up too, even briefly. You probably noticed I didn’t mention our catch up on my blog but I’ll explain another time, over a jug of cocktails, or three 😉

Damn about the tan washing off. Is that the done deal? I thought it was supposed to last for a while.

Holidays are exactly that. Drinking, eating….I’ve got get rid of a couple of kilos too now LOL.

I know what you mean about compliments too. I feel the same. I am 6kgs heavier than I’ve been. But isn’t it a nice reminder that you have actually lost the bulk of your weight! That’s gotta validate all the hard work you have put in and remind you that you haven’t put it all back on either. I never met you before the weight loss but I reckon you look great now and so happy! You’ve still got killer legs too. They are famous in blogland you know 🙂

  2. Sounds like a great weekend away! The dinner would have been a lot of fun too. I’m thinking of things to do in Melbs, trying to get a rough itinerary of sorts together but would love to catch up with you when I’m down there 🙂

I am the same when I go to visit my mum and my grandmother. They cook all this yummy stuff, ply me with booze and I just hang around, catching up. I do try to factor in some exercise when I’m down in Adelaide, but it’s never enough!

I’m still getting remarks about weight loss as well, even though I’m now sitting around 83-84 kilos :S. It’s strange, but I’m not about to go and correct them, hehe.

  3. LOL but those poles smell so good! You dork.

I know what you mean about the compliments – I feel the same when people say “Wow look you’ve kept your weight off” and secretly I’m thinking ‘Errr… kind of’.

Just take the compliments and use them as incentive to get back to where we were!

Glad you had a nice weekend 🙂

  4. Welcome home – glad u had fun. I’m with Mary, you’ve got killer legs.

  5. Glad you had a sensational time – if the weight went on quickly it’ll come off quickly (or so I tell myself after the weekend scoff-and-slurp-fest) Well done being polite, nothing more unpleasant than giving someone a compliment and them brushing it off. Mary + Linda + me = 3 in awe of your calves, you lucky duck 🙂
