Still going

April 27, 2009 · 2 Comments

  • Still don’t have internet.  Hopefully this week!  They have taken the $$$ out of the bank so shouldn’t be that much longer.
  • I keep having mysterious weight gains, mysterious because I’m not stuffing my face with pizza and cream cakes yet still get these random weight spikes.  Also no other issues that I can think that would be causing it.  It takes me all week of effort to get back to my start weight then I’ll have another strange overnight gain.  I have no idea what’s going on.
  • I’ve been feeling crap lately.  Andrew has to move out of his house – it’s being demolished.  We’ve been househunting and trying to find a place but so far no luck.  He has to be out TODAY!  I talked to my landlords about him staying with us but they said NO.  I feel so helpless — I really want to do more to help him and I can’t even give him a place to stay for a few nights.  He’s going to a backpackers tonight and putting his stuff in storage.  I really don’t like this at all.  It seems so unfair too — he’s lived in the same place for 4 years and been an ideal tenant but there are so many other people looking.

Tired

Still no internet at home. Might be on this week or so.

Spent today taking my son househunting.  I hope something comes up cos their house is being demolished and they have to be out on the 27th.  I told him he should have started looking much earlier.   We looked at one place – brand spanking new and very shiny.  There was no one else looking at it!  It was a fair bit more expensive than the other places they looked at but still you’d think there’d be some others.  Hopefully they’ll get that one… well actually I wanted it for myself.

Other than that, my job is so iffy at the moment.  I have work but not that much.  I’m just hoping to get in as many hours as possible before I go away.  It’s hard because I’m not the sort of person who can draw out things, I get bored far too easily.

Anyway I’m thinking of having a nanna nap before the footy starts tonight.  Go Crows!

Still here

Still here, still no internet access at home.  Why does it take so long?

Things are kind of weird at the moment but I’ve been trying to keep it all together.  Still running, still going to the gym.  Hopefully there will be some kind of normality soon.

Out

April 11, 2009 · 2 Comments

Out for a night of fun with Briony and Linda tonight.  Karaoke might be involved!

Today I went for a 5 km run.  I want to time myself on a 5 km run every month to see if I get faster.  Today I managed a “speedy” 36.50 – I’ve got to get faster than that.  I wanted to run faster but my legs didn’t.  I was like “what are my legs?” and they were like rusty springs!

Things

April 10, 2009 · 2 Comments

Arrgghhh it’s so frustrating not having the internets.  I can check email, blogs etc from work but it’s not the same as having access any time you want.  Anyways, I’ve discovered that I can get a coffee across the road from home and use the internet (we can actually use their internet from our house but it’s as dodgy as).

Weird week of things going on and not sure what’s happening with work and everything else.  I should be feeling esctatic about moving away from my awful housemates but instead I’ve been really just blerk… lost and unsettled.  Living above a cafe is a strange thing.  Like before we could leave the cafe and go home but now we never can.  Other things going on too but I don’t want to say too much here.

OMG, mega-disaster – I realised I’d put the wrong account number on my tax return last year and ended up having my tax cheque mailed to me.  That wouldn’t be a problem except now it means my Rudd bucks will be going to my OLD address.  Argggghhhhh!!!!  Went around on Friday to check the mail but nothing.  Our mail redirection doesn’t start until Friday (my sister can’t manage mega-difficult tasks like doing a mail redirection unless I go with her, it seems).   I have no idea what to do and I don’t want to ring the ATO because I reckon they’ll be flooded with calls.

Lots of other worries on my mind too – some things you don’t want to talk about online… but, the good news, after having a major weight spike after moving (sometimes it’s legitimate to use the “I’m in the middle of moving, I can’t cook, must get fish n’ chips…” excuse but you can draw it out a bit too long) I’m now down a little bit.  I’ve been  yo-yoing between the same half kilo point for weeks and now I’m 0.3 kilos under the lowest yo-yo point.  I think I can thank my period for that :D

OK, just read the ATO page – can’t ring until after the 16th about the Rudd bucks.  Hopefully I’ll have intercepted the cheque by then!

Ran for the Kids!

April 5, 2009 · 6 Comments

This is the fourth year I’ve done Run for the Kids.  The first year I could barely run but made it the distance.

For the past couple of years, I’ve made slow but steady gains.  This year I ran my slowest time in the past three years.  I wanted to make in 90 minutes or less.  That was my original goal anyways.

This week, with moving etc my legs have been pretty much seizing up and I’ve had knots the size of tennis balls in both calves.  I got to the start line feeling achey and tired.  Started slowly and kept going slowly.  A few times during the run I had to walk – I find doing really long walking strides stretches everything out.  I ended up going just over 100 minutes.  Not a good time at all but what can you do?

Other than that though, it was a top day.  Got to catch up with lots of people AJH and assorted ausrunners before the race.  Em, Sarah, Jaykay, Michelle, Sassy and Shell afterwards.

I thought the organisation of the run was so much impro ved over other years.  I never had to queue at all (obviously I never used the portaloos!) – checking and collecting bag was a dream.  But best of all, getting a bunch of grapes post- run was just perfect.

Moved…

April 2, 2009 · 7 Comments

I’ve moved, yah!

So much stuff to unpack but I’m getting there. So many clothes, who knew I had so many?

I’m dead tired and I think my calves have seized up but that’s okay.
