The plan for today was to run to work then go to boxing class after work. Only I didn’t feel like running this morning. I talked myself out of it by realising that running to work would mean leaving the gym at 7pm with no warm jacket (unless I ran with one in my bag!) so decided to walk into work instead. Then I dicked around until it was too late to do that so ended up catching the train.
Then I didn’t feel like boxing class after work. Sometimes being social is too much for me. So decided to run home instead. It’s very motivational, running home in the freezing cold! Now I have all my stuff at work – scarf, gloves, hat, coat etc so I might run in tomorrow and then go to the gym after work.
I just put my run into MapMyRun and realised why I haven’t seemed to burn many calories running lately – it had my weight at 31 kgs (I almost said “I wish” but then realised that’s like dead skinny, literally). Hopefully I’ve burnt off some of the okonomiyaki I had for lunch!
ETA: OMG I can’t believe I forgot the most exciting part of my day — I met my sis for lunch and shopping and got ELVIS PYJAMAS! Oh yeah.

I’m feeling really blah and icky tonight for no real reason. Maybe because I went to the physio. Sometimes I feel a bit crap after the physio or a massage.
Why is teenage binge drinking such a big deal at the moment? It seems to be all over the paper. Like we haven’t all got shit faced on Stones Green Ginger during our teenage years. At least they aren’t out taking drugs.
Another thing I don’t understand is dentists. Like say I have an appointment for a filling for half hour and it costs $100 then I have an appointment for a root canal which takes an hour and it costs $400. Why does it cost so much more – its the same dentist doing the work and it’s not like there’s extra material costs.
Oh yeah, and I found out last week I’m vitamin D deficient. I don’t know why, I spend more time in the sun than ever (and always forget to wear sunscreen…oops). My doctor said they’ve only just started testing for vit D deficiency so they are finding lots of people have it. Damn slip, slop, slapping.

When I was waiting for my sis outside Target tonight, I noticed a thing in the window of Big City Chic – they are holding a plus size model comp. Thought I’d post it up to let you know — you have to go to the site and search around cos it’s in bloody Flash so I can’t post a direct link. They are looking for someone 18-28 (damn I just miss out), size 14+ with a strong personality, so come on all you spunk rats, get in there.

I got my new keycard today – no more carrying cash around. It’s scary knowing how much you spend.
I’ve mentioned before stuff about how weird my housemates are, well this is the freakiest yet. I went to use the microwave yesterday. Our microwave is a total disgrace – food and gunk splattered everywhere and big globs of stuff baked onto it. I’ve thought about cleaning it but turn a blind eye, figuring it’ll just get messed up again real soon (people just don’t get the concept of covering their food!).
So yesterday I opened the microwave door and I’D BEEN CLEANED!!!! I asked my sister if she’d cleaned it but she hadn’t so I told her to come take a look. Then we stood around the microwave, slawjawed with awe.
I guess this means my housemate is back on the speed.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that as well as my team winning on the weekend, I also won on the sportsbetting. I put my money where my mouth is (not literally, I put it where the TAB machine is) and it paid off. Woohoo. I’m reinvesting in more sports betting.
This morning I ran to work. Well, ran to the gym then had a shower and walked to work. It’s around 5 kms to the gym so a good morning run. Sure bets getting up, going for a run then coming home and showering and catching the train.
Tomorrow I’m off to my physio. I love going to the physio

- I’ve got Green & Black’s drinking chocolate! OMG, it’s heaven in liquid drinking form.
- I only went to the gym today instead of running outside cos it was supposed to hail… damn you BOM and your dodgy weather forecasts.
- I have organic plums and they are like the crack cocaine of the fruit world. I also have miniature bananas.
- Waiting for news sucks.
- Our run at Apollo Bay is to Paradise Picnic Reserve and back. That is inspiring a playlist with songs such as:
- Run to Paradise
- Paradise City
- Paradise by the Dashboard Light
- I’ve been to Paradise
- Gangsta Paradise
- Just Like Living in Paradise.

I ended up going to the footy yesterday after all. One of those spur of the moment decisions. I’m so glad I did too because my team rules! I haven’t been to the ‘G to watch the footy since Andrew was a kid and we got to sit one row back from the fence. Not the best positon to watch the whole game but I like being up close. Plus I got a good view of Kurt Tippett — OMG that boy is bringing the pretty back to Adelaide. This is my review of the game – we rule, Chris Judd sucks, Johncock = awesome, Andrew McLeod – beyond Awesomedome!
We had some mouthy Carlton fans sitting in front of us. We predicted a leave in the last quarter and were right. I don’t get ppl leaving early in the footy. It’s just plain wrong. Anyway we jumped into the front row after they left. A few minutes before the siren it started pissing down with rain but we stuck it out then hung around to sing the club song and get hand slaps
After the game, we met up with Andy and went to his place to watch the St Kilda game (who didn’t play so well). Despite all the footy, I still had a very productive day – got lots of writing done and even finished off the jumper I knitted ages ago. I only had to do the underarm seams but kept putting it off but got mighty motivated by the need for a thick, warm jumper yesterday.
Arrgghhh but I ate far too much. We got food at the bakery to take to the game, cos we’re not paying $1zillion at the ground for a crappy burger then we ordered in dinner at Andy’s – 4 cheese pizza, which wasn’t nearly as special as it sounds since they put all the fetta and goat’s cheese in one quarter! plus gnocchi and chips. Lately when I eat fatty food I get really bad belly aches that last 2-3 days. You’d think I’d learn.
I ended up waking in the middle of the night, so dehydrated from all the salt. I’m thinking of a total takeaway ban for the next few weeks.

Not only is having your wallet stolen a bitch, it has some nasty side effects:
- Not having any cards, I have to do everything with cash. Esp with it being a long weekend, I’ve had to draw a wad of cash out of the bank. This is not something you want to do at a time when you’re paranoid about losing stuff!
- Having no licence means that I’ve got to carry my passport around with me. My passport is 7 years old and I look like a complete dog in my photo! I can’t believe my face was so fat… like a blowfish! And I really should have waxed my top lip before getting that pic taken… Yet NO ONE has mentioned it doesn’t look like me!
I’m working on an Arts council grant at the moment. They don’t make it easy. I’m using a Word form and it’s so poorly designed that I have to fight the temptation to fix it! I really don’t think I’ll get a grant, I don’t write arty enough for that kind of thing, but figure it’s worth going through all the preplanning stages anyway.
This won’t mean much unless you follow AFL but I traded Aaron Sandilands out of my dream team this week – stupid, stupid, stupid! We watched the final quarter of the game last night. I really wanted to see Geelong get beaten cos they’re getting to full of themselves lately, damn it. I’m torn today because I want to go see my team play but I’ve got a lot of other stuff to do – like writing and going to the gym and shopping. Still go Crows!

I’ve got to remember the weather is getting colder. I wake up and it’s nice and warm at home so I put on shorts and teeshirt to go out for a run and freeze my butt off! It’s icicles out there of a morning. I did hill running yesterday – my physio said it’d be good for me. I was hoping he wouldn’t say that!
I’ve been enjoying running so much more now that I don’t have to run a half marathon. It’s good
Reading the paper yesterday about the rising prices and I realised I lead a fairly economy-proof life. I don’t have to pay for electricty etc cos it’s included in my rent and my rent is pretty cheap. It makes putting up with crappy housemates bareable. I don’t drive my car that often so don’t really care plus people shouldn’t be hooning around, wrecking the environment and playing their loud hoon music. Ha, there was some dude in the Herald Sun yesterday complaining about how petrol prices are wrecking his social life cos he can’t drive around picking up chicks! My heart bleeds.
As for interest rates – woohoo! I had some money just sitting in my debit card account and I noticed on my bank’s website the other day they had term deposits at 7%. I’d not thought about putting my cash into a term deposit because you don’t get enough $$$ but at 7% it’s totally worth it. So I moved all money over into that.
Of course, this could all change overnight, esp since I’ve only got another 6 weeks on my contract at work, but at the moment things are going well.

It’s a public holiday on Friday and I’m surprisingly unhappy about it. All week we’ve been faffing around with software at work, all kinds of ridiculous stuff that you really don’t want to know about and mostly because people are insanely annoying. The upshot is that it’s been a totally unproductive week so having a day off isn’t going to help. So unlike me to be concerned about these things and to be so personally invested in my job.
After work today, I went to boxing class. Excellent way to deal with work frustrations. I paired up with a girl who was around the same level as me so that made for a good class. Because it’s a circuit class, it’s an excellent workout too.
I walked most of the way home. Well, had planned on walking a small part of the way but the anus-face tram driver didn’t stop for me, even though I hailed him and everything! That meant I had to walk down the fancy end of Gertrude St in my gym clothes – blah!
Got home and put on some chicken patties to cook (no recipe cos I bought them premade at Preston Market) in my toaster oven. Had my shower and felt all organised — well one of my freaken housemates had unplugged the toaster oven so the patties were still frozen. It turned it back on, bitching and moaning about annoying housemates and waited another 20 mins. Still frozen cos some dick had turned the guage back to zero! I did check it cos I never unplug it and I never change the temp from the max. Why do people have to touch my stuff? I’d put it in my room but I’d be worried about mice etc from crumbs. Anyway I think the easiest solution is to chop off my housemates’ hands with an axe.
The good part of the week is that I think my weight is finally going down. When I was sick etc I put back on all the weight I lost this year!!!! Oh noes! It’s coming off easily though so I think it might have been mainly fluid retention.
